Our Town Is Under Threat
Please Help Us Save Quinninup
Quinninup is a small, thriving community in the Southern Forest Region of Western Australia.
Our town has been under threat from a number of proposed mines that were being actively pursued in and around our township, in karri and jarrah forests, near waterways, farms and family homes.
Our strong and committed community has been fighting a number of mine tenement applications over the last 2 years with relative success, however the threat of another mine being proposed is ever present..
Unfortunately, we must remain vigil and be prepared to mount objections again at any time.
Mine tenements had covered the entire township of Quinninup, our private homes, Karri Lake and waterways plus surrounding farms, homes and businesses through out the area.
These tenements stretched along Wheatley Coast Rd and Muirs Hwy towards Dingup as well over to the South-West Hwy, Tinks Rd and north to Smith Brook and Middlesex.
With your support and the overwhelming community concern that mining will have on this precious region we have been successful...so far! in stopping or having the following tenement applications withdrawn.
So, we thank you and all our supporters š
However we have to remain vigil and be prepared to mount objections to the next mine application which will invariably happen at some time in the future.
